Do you have retail stores where I can just come in and pick up my boxes?

No, we do not have retail stores... We provide the lowest price, the best customer service and FAST FREE delivery (2-3 business days) to our customers by shipping all of our boxes from one of our centralized distribution centers, via UPS and FedEx.

If you order before 2:00 pm (time zone of the delivery address) on any business day, your boxes will be shipped the very same day and be delivered in 2-3 business days via UPS or FedEx. Why spend the time (and gas) to drive to a retail store and stuff brand new boxes into your car, when our quality used boxes are delivered to your door, for less?

Are the boxes you sell as good as brand new boxes?

Yes. We have a rule at UsedCardboardBoxes.com: If we wouldn't use the box to move our own households, we don't put it in inventory! The boxes you receive may have been gently used once, or they may be brand new overruns, misprints or customer returns. They may also have a label or two on them... and could even have some handwriting on them. But for the purpose of packing them with household items for a move, or to ship an item across the country, they are great... and we guarantee it! The suppliers of our used boxes are manufacturers, distributors and retailers that use high-quality boxes only one time. Whichever boxes you order from us, you can rest assured that you are getting quality boxes at deep discounts. How much do you charge for shipping?

NOTHING! We deliver our boxes to you for FREE via UPS or FedEx, from a regional distribution center nearest to you. That way, we are sure that the boxes will get to you in just 2-3 business days if you are ordering Moving Kits, guaranteed! All brand new boxes and accessories come from a separate distributor and may take a little longer to receive. We pay for all the shipping expenses so you don't ever have to worry about any other costs than what you see on our site. Compare that to some of those sneaky companies that sell new boxes at "low" prices, then make YOU pay for shipping!

Do you ship to Hawaii, Alaska or Canada?

No. Unfortunately, while we can ship to any address in the continental US, we do not serve Hawaii, Alaska or Canada. This helps us keep our costs down and allows us to provide you with the lowest prices!

When will my boxes arrive?

All used boxes will arrive in just 2-3 business days, for FREE!!! We ship all of our USED moving boxes via UPS and FedEx and guarantee delivery in 2-3 business days, for all orders placed before 2:00 pm on any business day. If you order after 2:00PM on any day, your boxes will be shipped the next business day. For example, if you order on Friday after 2:00PM, your boxes will ship the next business day (Monday) and are guaranteed to arrive in 2-3 business days, which is either Wednesday or Thursday. Any NEW items you order (like wardrobe boxes, bubble wrap, or any other item marked as new) will be shipped from a different warehouse than other quality USED products you may have purchased on this site, and may arrive at a different time. Although rare, this product might take an additional 2-4 days to arrive.

How can I track my order?

Trying to track your package? Go to our Order TrackerAll orders are shipped via FedEx or UPS. Once your order arrives at the FedEx/UPS depot and is registered in their system, you can track it directly from our website. Just login to your account and all of your tracking numbers will be accessible. Simply click your tracking number and your tracking information will be displayed in a separate window via FedEx/UPS.com. What is the difference between a "Moving Kit" and a "Moving Boxes"?

Our Moving Kits are pre-selected sets of boxes and accessories designed to make ordering as easy as possible and to make your move hassle-free. Can I customize my order by swapping, substituting or removing items from the pre-packaged kits?

No. In order to provide the quickest shipment of orders at the lowest possible price, we have prepackaged all our boxes into either the moving kits or stacks. We have made every effort to ensure that our kits have the boxes and materials you will need to successfully pack your home or office. We've been doing this since 2002 and create our kits 100% based on our customers needs. We evaluate the new box competition, create stacks and kits that are very similar to theirs, then add more boxes and lower the price!!! Our stacks of boxes enable you to purchase additional boxes to add to a kit. Unfortunately, we can't break up a moving kit or stack and still be able to provide the lowest possible prices and still ship on the same day, for free. However, the price you pay for these additional items (markers, box cutters, tape, etc) is relatively inexpensive and you can almost consider them a "freebie" when compared to the prices charged by our new-box competitors.

I need a specific size box, and I only need a few, can I special order them?

No. In order to provide quality used boxes at the lowest possible price, we purchase boxes by the the truckload, and prepackage them into our convenient and earth-friendly moving kits and stacks. We currently do not offer specific sized boxes for non-commercial orders (quantities less than 1000). For residential orders, or quantities less than 1000, the boxes available are general moving box size and shape, and are described by approximate cubic feet. The reason for this is we we have regional distribution centers across the country, and with used boxes, the inventory can vary between distribution centers. Unfortunately, we do not sell individual boxes, nor can we guarantee a specific sized box, other than the ones listed on our website under specialty boxes. If our general size boxes are not applicable to your needs, please contact your local pack and ship for specific sizes in small quantities.

I want to buy A LOT of boxes. Can you give me a better price than what’s on your website?

We'd love to give you the best price possible and we have an entire commercial shipping box division dedicated to providing the lowest prices possible, on bulk orders. However, keep in mind that the minimum quantity we quote for commercial orders is 1,000 of the SAME EXACT BOX (if gaylords our minimum is 100). If I order a stack of boxes, or a moving kit with a specific amount of each size of box, will the boxes be uniform (i.e. will all the larges be the same)?

Not necessarily. We buy quality used boxes by the truckload, and never accept individual (or small quantities) of boxes into our inventory. This way, we can provide our customers with the most consistent offering of quality used boxes. However, there is a very small chance that your order may contain a "moving kit" that was built from a specific combination of truckloads and also a "stack of boxes" that was built from a different truckload. Therefore, you may experience a difference between the two. However, all of our kits and stacks are pre-packaged in our shipping boxes called "modules" and you can rest assured that all of the boxes within a module are consistent. Better yet, we 100% guarantee your satisfaction. If we didn't think you will be happy with your order from UCB, we wouldn't send it!

Do you sell small boxes or book boxes?

Yes. Our Brand New File Boxes are perfect for books and other small items. In addition, we have assembled our "Moving Kits" and "Moving Boxes" to accommodate most of the items our customers will need to pack when moving. Our medium size boxes work very well to pack books because they provide enough space to pack all different sizes of books, thus reducing the number of boxes you will need. However, they are not too large, so they will not be too heavy to lift, even when full. The amount of books they will hold will depend on the size of your books.

How long in advance should I start packing?

It doesn't hurt to get started early. When you start early it allows you to pack at your own pace, make sure everything is packed well and you are not rushed at the last minute. You can start packing now by ordering what you think you need. Since we ship FOR FREE and you are guaranteed to receive your moving kit boxes within 2-3 days if you order, you can always order more, if and when you need more.

I just placed an order and changed my mind, can I cancel my order before it ships?

Ugh... we are so sorry! We explain all of this in the terms and conditions you agree to, prior to placing your order. We have built a completely automated system that enables us to not only ship same day, but provide the lowest prices on boxes anywhere in the country. There is very little human interaction involved, once the order is placed. Because we rely so much on technology, orders that are placed on the phone or web are immediately charged to the customer's credit card, pulled from inventory and entered into the UPS or FedEx system for same day shipping. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to intercept an order after it is placed, even before it is shipped. Once you have placed an order and received a confirmation number, your credit card will have been charged and your boxes will already be on their way to you. If you would like to return them, you will be responsible for shipping the unopened, complete order back to UsedCardboardBoxes.com for a refund of the purchase price, subject to a 20% restocking fee.

I have already received my order, but I don’t need the boxes anymore. Can I return them?

Sure! You can return any unopened, "shipping modules" to us (these are the outer boxes used to ship your kits to you) as long as you contact us within 3 business days of receiving your order. You are responsible for shipping the modules back to us and your return will be subject to a 20% restocking fee. Please Note: We are not able to accept returns of any opened shipping modules. I am done moving, and I have unpacked all my boxes. Do you take them back?

We're glad you share our passion of not filling up landfills with cardboard boxes! However, in order to provide the lowest-cost, quality used boxes to residences and businesses across the entire US, we have to obtain our boxes in bulk and cannot pick them up from you. With this, we suggest that it's best to give it to your family or friends in need of boxes, or you might want to try selling the boxes on a local marketplace site, such as Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, or to simply recycle them at a local recycling center that accepts corrugated cardboard or you can turn the boxes into a beautiful art piece and post it in social media and hoping that you'll tag UCB.

I did not get a confirmation, did I place my order?

When placing an order online or over the phone, confirmation is of the utmost importance. For this reason we provide double confirmation. Upon completion of a successful order process, we will display a six digit confirmation number on your web browser. We will also immediately send you an email containing your receipt and confirmation number. If you did not receive an order confirmation number on your computer's browser and/or you did not immediately receive an email from UCB with a copy of your receipt (including your confirmation number) please call us asap at 1-888-BOXES-88 (1-888-269-3788). We will need to research your order and if necessary, we will re-enter it into the system.

I just received an exception notice from UPS. What do I do?

UPS exception notices are usually sent because a signature was required but no one was available to sign for the boxes, or because of an incorrect address or apartment number. If you have requested that UPS require a signature in order to deliver your boxes, please make sure someone is available on the delivery date. If an order cannot be delivered due to an unavailable signature, UPS will reschedule the delivery for the next business day. If an address or apartment number is incorrect, UPS will try and call you to get the information corrected. UPS cannot deliver to a PO Box. If you have received an exception notice for these or any other reason, please call UPS at 1-800-PICK-UPS to resolve the issue.
